Dad's post

hiho finnbuster, when in SF take a streetcar down Sutter St (I tnink it is tramlined) cos yr granny lived on it round 69.
Drop in on the Filmore to see wuts goin down & get outa town to visit the big trees back of Big Sur & have the big Pacific fog roll in on ya. Then when you are chomping into the Big Apple say hiho to the folks at City Hall I first got married, visit Eloise @ the Plaza hotel (I heard some Trumprick wants to knock it down) where Robin & I honeymooned before moving into the Chelsea Hotel which probably aint so funky any more but then was filled with bad characters, dead poets & such.
There was another hotel i stayed at the Benjamin Franklin which was the cheapest in town.
Must go to Reubens & have a sandwich like no other & down the Village goto the Vanguard jazz bar/club that has survived from bebop days.
Take the subway to Harlem which used to be reckoned a dangerous move but these days the danger has moved downtown to whiteyville, the bigpig end of town, anyway go by the Apollo Theatre to catch an act mebbe. If in doubt keep smiling & keep moving & give my regards to Broadway.

  • Dad, when you move onto talking about the big apple do you keep talking about New York or do you shift back to San Fran?
